I love being a good Samaritan.
Yesterday after work, I went to the bank to put some money I owed my brother into his account and drop a cheque in for my mother. On the little table where you can fill in the deposit point slips (this was a Saturday afternoon so the bank was shut but for the foyer) there was a whole bundle of someone else's bank stuff, including a check book and building society book and all sorts of stuff that you could probably use to defraud them out of money, should you want and know how to.
I tried to pop it into the deposit point with a note about when it was found, but the deposit point slot is very tiny so it didn't fit, then my mother came to get me (I had already told her about the stuff that was found) and suggested we take it round to the police station, which we did. They basically said that it'd be better if it was at the bank, and could I take it back on Monday. Fine. The cheque book had a name and address on it, so when I was home I searched the online phonebook and found the woman who's stuff it was and told her I had it, not to worry I would drop it into the bank on Monday unless she desperately needed it, then she could come round and get it. She came round today while I was at work, very grateful and left me a massive tin of chocolates as a thank you! Obviously I am mostly pleased that I found them and not someone who knows or wants to steal from people, but equally, it's chocolate and I can't deny I'm not happy about it.
NOMNOMNOM.
This is the longest post of this blog, goodness me.
Also, I know I've been shit. The last couple of weeks have been either horrendous or really busy.

I love Mumford & Sons
There hasn't been a lot of love floating about my way recently, so I've been failing at the basic premise of this bad boy BUT an album I ordered while drunk (yes) which came yesterday has completely reignited my own personal spark.
Mumford & Sons - if any of you want a wife, I'm a lovely girl with a pretty quick wit and quite nice hair and you can probably contact me through this (I think?!). Also, I can sing a bit, and I think I'd make a lovely muse.
Seriously, am in love.

I love bunting.
Seriously, my friend's housemates got all involved with a bunting competition this weekend, and now I love bunting. It's so cheerful looking!!
This is theirs, but the inside part that was attached to my friend's bed (how else would you hang bunting?), it was Harvest/Autumn themed, and was also joint winner of the street party bunting competition. I helped plait the string - I say helped, it literally took 2 hours or so for us to plait these 20m of string together so it's a pretty big help really.

Past loves
I love going to see my friends.
This is a two-in-one sort of thing because it also shows how much I genuinely love train travel. Yes it can be expensive and can be stressful and all sorts of other negative nellies, but I LOVE IT. Trains are generally clean and comfortable, if I'm going a long way I'll book a seat so no worries there, and it's just so soothing. You can have a little read, or just listen to music. Actually it's probably one of the few times you can really LISTEN to music, because you're not doing anything else. Usually I'm walking, or doing something which requires at least a little bit of attention elsewhere.
Anyway, it was my friends 21st last week but she wasn't at Uni for it so her friends threw her a partaaaayyy which me and ANOTHER friend went down for. It was lahhvely. Nice bit of drinking, many amounts of talking, some horrifically good films.

I love it when the song you really want to hear comes on first on your mp3 player.
So I've been really into Frank Turner's new album recently and I LOVE the track 'The Fastest Way Back Home' and really wanted to hear it on the way to work this morning but that never happens so I figured I'd have to scroll through loads of songs in my wonderful playlist but LO, turned it on and BAM there it was. It was incredible. Maybe fate, maybe God, maybe Frank Turner himself was looking out for me...whatever, I love that track.

Sunday love-in
As promised, stuff I love or have loved, but that isn't a recent discovery.
This week, CDs:
It's not necessarily these albums that I love, but the artists/bands. Goooorgeous, beautiful music of various styles and of varying jollity. These are all albums that have, at some point, been literally played on repeat for days. I could have just done a print screen of the files on my music folder, but aren't you glad I didn't? There is still joy to be had in tangible music.

I love organisational skills.
Bought this today to get my life in order. It's the little things in life, y'know. Plus it has a pen holder!! I always lose pens for notebooks. I've written some birthdays in already, and I'm going to actually write things down - like when I do overtime at work and what time trains I get if I go places by train. Plus it's good for period maths, which I suck at.

I love chocolate rice pudding.
That is chocolate rice pudding and not vomit in a bowl, I promise. It was so difficult finding anything today, I have lady time and since I've been on the pill forever I'm not used to it anymore. Was all set to love my period but a) I thought the picture might be a bit dodgy and b) it got all kinds of bad at about lunchtime. Owwww.

This is just the beginning.
And so it begins...
It's time for some positivity in my life, in the world, on the internet so The Velocity of Love is my way of spreading a bit. Everyday I will be posting a picture of something I love. It could be a leaf, it could be my cat's face. An outfit I see in the street, the flowers I grew.
I'll also be posting 'past loves' on Sundays. Things I loved, and still love they're just not new discoveries.
Everyone needs a bit of Love.
OC xx
P.s. my twitter page will have verbal updates of a similar nature.
